# Idea to Motion > Make animated videos by asking Claude, Cursor or any MCP client — your AI writes it, we render the MP4. Idea to Motion is an MCP server. You connect it to an AI client you already use and ask for a video in chat. Your assistant does the creative work — it writes the script, plans every scene and writes the animation code. The platform synthesizes the voiceover, aligns it to word-level timestamps, renders the animation and returns an MP4. No server-side model makes a creative decision, which is why creating is free. ## What you can make - explainer: a narrated video. Your assistant writes the script. - motion_graphic: a silent animated video driven by on-screen text. Your assistant writes a shot list. - recording: upload your own video and your assistant picks the cuts and animates around you. Each is available as a 9:16 vertical reel or a 16:9 widescreen longform. ## Supported clients - Claude Code - Claude web & Desktop - Cursor - VS Code (Copilot) - Antigravity - Windsurf - Gemini CLI - Codex CLI - Kiro - Zed - Any other MCP-capable client, via the mcp-remote bridge. ## Connecting - MCP endpoint (Streamable HTTP): https://api.ideatomotion.com/mcp - Setup instructions, per client: https://ideatomotion.com/connect - Agent skill (open SKILL.md, readable by any agent): https://api.ideatomotion.com/mcp/skill - Auth: an API key in an Authorization header, or OAuth 2.1 + PKCE for clients that only accept a URL. ## Pricing No subscription. You are charged only when you export a finished video. Creating and previewing videos is free and unlimited. Base rate: $1.00 per minute at 1080p, billed to the second with no minimum. - 1080p: 1x the base rate. - 2k: 1.5x the base rate. - 4k: 2.5x the base rate. Free export tiers: 480p, 720p. Free plan allowance: 2 exports per calendar month. A new account's first HD export is free. Re-exporting a video you already paid for is free — you are only ever charged the difference if you upgrade quality or lengthen the video. Voice synthesis and transcription run on your own provider key, so they are not billed here. ## Example output Every video below was produced from the one-line prompt beside it, with no manual editing: - "Govt school teachers beat private schools on AI" — from the prompt "India's public school teachers are adopting AI — and outrunning the rules. Model Context Protocol. It's an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external tools. If your AI supports MCP (Claude, Cursor, Kiro, etc.), it can use Idea to Motion. ### Why is creation free? Your AI does all the creative work (script, directions, code) using your own LLM tokens. We only spend compute on voice synthesis, validation, and rendering. That's why we can offer unlimited free creation and only charge for final MP4 export. ### What AI clients work? Any MCP-compatible client: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Kiro, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, VS Code with Copilot, and more. If it can connect to an MCP server, it works. ### How does the video get made? Your AI calls our MCP tools in sequence: create a job, write a script, generate voiceover, direct scenes, code Remotion components. We handle TTS, validation, assembly, and rendering. ### What about the voiceover? BYOK (Bring Your Own Key): connect your ElevenLabs, Cartesia or Sarvam AI API key and we use it for voice synthesis. 5 curated voices with word-level timing. ### Can I turn a screen recording into a demo video? Yes. Give your AI a silent screen recording of your product and ask for a product walkthrough. It reads the recording frame by frame on your machine, keeps every step in order, cuts the waiting, and rebuilds each screen as motion graphics with a live cursor and a voiceover. No frame of the original recording appears in the video. ### Can I tweak the video after preview? Yes. Tell your AI what to change (e.g. 'make the intro faster'). It edits the scene code directly and the video recomposes in place. You can iterate as many times as you want for free. ## Links - Home: https://ideatomotion.com - Connect an AI client: https://ideatomotion.com/connect - Example videos: https://ideatomotion.com/showcase - Pricing: https://ideatomotion.com/pricing - Terms: https://ideatomotion.com/terms - Privacy: https://ideatomotion.com/privacy
